Job Description

We are seeking a Content Marketing Manager who blends sharp editorial skills with keen marketing instincts. This job will begin as an individual contributor role, with the goal of growing a team as you scale the business impact of the content function. You will have accountability for generating revenue via content, and you will execute a busy daily lineup of content deliverables.

The Content Marketing Manager will have three main objectives:

1. Design and execute new content initiatives. You will drive sales of our premium subscription products for sports betting and pools by implementing content and/or community-based strategies, while also increasing brand awareness, audience sizes, and engagement.

2. Create content our target audience loves. From articles to podcasts to videos, you will serve as our primary editor and producer, writing and publishing daily content, leveraging technology to scale your output, and ensuring all content reinforces our brand promise.

3. Grow and manage our content partner program. You will recruit, engage, and develop relationships with media companies, creators, and influencers; encourage them to reference and showcase our products; and expand the revenue impact of this channel.

This newly created, entrepreneurial role offers the opportunity to scale an existing content operation that already generates substantial revenue, yet has big potential for further growth. You will have ownership over the content function, your performance will make a meaningful impact on our bottom line, and you will share in the financial success you help achieve.

Your Responsibilities

Content Creation

  • Create data-driven content on sports betting and pools
  • Write short- and long-form articles for our websites and partners
  • Plan, produce, and distribute podcasts, videos, shorts, and clips
  • Design and produce data tables, charts, and visualizations
  • Proofread and edit content written by other team members
  • Write copy for marketing emails, landing pages, and user flows

Strategy & Growth

  • Design and implement content tests (e.g. channels, topics, formats)
  • Optimize conversion and grow audiences on specific platforms
  • Leverage technology (e.g AI, automation) to scale content output
  • Implement SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings
  • Stay on top of trends in content marketing, AI, and social media

Social & Community

  • Oversee all company social media accounts and communities
  • Implement strategies that increase followers and engagement
  • Interact with commenters and join relevant social conversations
  • Capture the attention and respect of influencers in our space

Analysis & Reporting

  • Implement measurement infrastructure to track content metrics
  • Analyze content metrics to inform test ideas and refinements
  • Report on content marketing performance to the broader team
  • Present ideas, recommendations, and supporting data to leadership

Process & Collaboration

  • Work with our lead analyst to develop ideas and execute campaigns
  • Build relationships with creators, influencers, and media partners
  • Recruit and manage freelancers and contributors as needed
  • Manage our content calendar, plan deliverables, and hit deadlines
  • Coordinate with internal functional teams (e.g. product, engineering)

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and passion for sports betting and pools
  • Past success building audiences and driving conversion
  • Familiarity with digital marketing playbooks and tactics
  • Expert user of tools for audience measurement and analytics
  • Experience producing content for digital/social platforms
  • Experience with AI tools and excitement for applying them
  • Skilled and versatile writer for web, mobile, email, and social
  • Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and concisely
  • Ability to quickly transform ideas into multi-platform content
  • Eagle-eyed proofreader, line editor, and content polisher
  • Experience with data presentation and visualization tools
  • Command of WordPress, including plug-ins and customizations
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and tools (e.g. Semrush)
  • All-star level organizational and project management skills

Providing tangible examples of your prior achievements relevant to this role will be the best way to distinguish yourself as a candidate. Ideally, you've already helped increase sales of a consumer product or service by implementing and refining your own content marketing ideas.

You will also need to show us that you can create original content that reflects our brand promise to deliver expert-level, data-driven analysis of sports betting and pools.
